The Prompt Library provides instant access to both pre-built examples and your own saved prompts, making it a powerful hub for managing your instructions.

Accessing the Prompt Library

You can easily access your Prompt Library directly from the prompt input area.

Find Input Bar

Locate the prompt input bar.

Open Library

Click the Prompt Library button positioned on the input bar.

Access Panel

A side panel will open – this is your Prompt Library.

Once opened, the Prompt Library panel presents you with:

Recommended Prompts

A curated list of prompts created by the Storytell team to help you get started or inspire new ideas.

Search Bar

Quickly find specific prompts within your library (both personal and recommended) by typing keywords.

Create Prompt Button

Located in the top-right corner, this button allows you to add new prompts to your library.

Creating and Saving a New Prompt

Save your most effective prompts for future use by adding them to your library.

Access Library

Open the Prompt Library (see “Accessing the Prompt Library” above).

Create New

Click the Create Prompt button in the top-right corner of the panel.

Fill Details

Fill out the required fields in the form that appears:

Name

A short, memorable title for your prompt (e.g., “Blog Post Intro Hook”)

Description

A brief explanation of what the prompt does or when to use it

Prompt

The actual text of the prompt you want to save

Save to

Choose where to save the prompt:

  • Personal Library: Saves the prompt only for your own use
  • Shared Collection: Saves the prompt to a specific Collection that might be shared with team members

Save Changes

Click Save to add the prompt to your selected library/collection.

Managing Your Prompts

Here are the actions you can perform on prompts you have created or have permission to edit:

Deleting a prompt is usually irreversible. Be sure you no longer need it before deleting. You cannot manage the default “Recommended Prompts” provided by Storytell.

Using a Saved Prompt

Open Library

Open the Prompt Library

Find Prompt

Find the desired prompt (using search or by browsing)

Select Action

Click on the prompt itself or use the Use prompt action from the menu

Ready to Use

The prompt text will be automatically inserted into the main prompt input bar.
